Where's That?

Chanel's Spring ad campaign features Claudia Schiffer and has a very Latin-conquistador type feeling with a backdrop of old-world, dilapidated glamour.

The campaign was shot by Lagerfeld in Buenes Aries, and while I was unable to find any real info on 'El Patio del Arbol' featured in the ads, I found a little homemade video on YouTube to share with you.  I hope you enjoy the quick trip.

Sweet Freedom

It's been raining cats and dogs all week here in L.A. and I am reminded just how grateful I am for my Brazilian Blowout.   Prior to this miracle treatment, rain and humidity were the bane of my existence. As were all other situations that necessitated my hair getting wet.  Ah yes, the memory of Miami this time last year (pre-blowout) still sends a shiver down my spine.  It's infinitely hard to feel chic and put together when a simple walk down the block turns your whole look on its' head.

Though my hair certainly has not looked it's best this week, I can remember all too clearly just how much worse it could be.  Yes, the frizz is gone, along with all of the blood, sweat and tears that used to go into my hair styling.

Brazilian Blowout: a few hundred dollars.  Hair Freedom: Priceless.

EU Envy

Have you heard of Zara Home?? I hadn't, until....

Whilst doing my daily digging, I happened across this post on an blog out of Ireland called Designheaven. I now have some major envy for what they've got going on over there in the EU with this Zara Home! It seems that one can only place orders from the following countries: Spain, Portugal, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Greece, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Sweden, Denmark and Monaco. If I had friends in any one of these places (I do not) I'd be doing some major proxy-shopping. Alot of these goods are so chic it's just beyond, making some of the merchandise at places like Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters look like yesterday's news. And the prices?? Well, my novice currency converting skills tell me they're great!!

Enjoy my selections, all in an all-time favorite color, gold. There's so much more to be seen on this site, so check it out and enjoy!

Bergdorf Goodman vs. West Elm

Today, because it's rainy and I have far too much time on my hands, I thought I'd take a little trip by perusing the resort collections available through Bergdorf Goodman. I swoon over one of the season's most dominant trends: the print. I love the variety of floral, animal, abstract, geometric and tribal -- truly something for every mood. An infusion of these sunny, bright, optimistic or edgy prints will do my wardrobe good and I'll be doing it at home as well. For a fraction of the price of these designer looks, I can switch out a couple of area rugs and buy a new set of sheets from none other than West Elm! I always get my fix of affordable and timely items here so let's compare, shall we?

Spring Pillows!!

I spent some time browsing through the new selections in the 'Apt' section of UrbanOutfitters.com
and as I always do, I found quite a few chic home accessories. I fell hard for a few of their on-trend pillows -- easy on the wallet and an easy way to freshen up your place for spring!
Stockholm Knit Pillow Southwest meets Tribal meets '80's-- say what!! The reverse side of this chic little knit number is an equally graphic black and white pattern. I'd try three or four, alternating the fronts and backs, on a jewel-toned, silk velvet-upholstered love seat or banquette!

This Silver Foil Pillow looks too good to be true!!
Very disco...a hot look for the coming months! I'd love to place this on top of some charcoal kidskin leather, or something equally dark and dramatic, so it'd really pop!!

Nautical Stripe Pillow -- so fresh and so clean!! On a royal, navy, or baby blue chunky linen -- love it!!

Do You Love the Eightie's?

After being a hot-ish trend for the past few seasons, the eighties are still lingering a bit in the fashion world. Many were horrified by this resurgence because a) it's hard to wear and b) it can look a bit fug.

As far as the world of interiors goes, Kelly Wearstler's latest book Hue
has more than a few looks that recall this era -- and if she's doing it, let's face it, we're all gonna want to do it too.

This headboard has been sitting on the curb of my block for a couple of weeks now.... and I'm feelin' it.

My Bag

Hide 'Carolyn' Bag

My chic friend Adrienne does a great line of handbags called Hide. One of the reasons I like them so much is that they're fashion friendly, without being trendy. I haven't the time, or money, for a trendy bag. This one, above, named after me is my favorite. I'm having mine done in an olive-y-brown, silky soft leather with gold chain! Saving my money and can't wait! Check out her site: www.hidebags.com

Hide 'LaLa' Bag
love this one, too.
